PORTO MONGERING POCKET GUIDE
I lived for quite a few years in the Southeast Asia. During the first few months in Asia’s world city and whenever I travelled around, ISG has been a great help and support providing useful & reliable information. Latter on, I became an active contributor, but that was “another life”...
Nowadays I’m leaving back in my hometown – Porto. I’ve noticed the local thread is almost 7 feet under… In fact, it’s quite hard to write a guide about Porto, even a pocket guide (there’s not much to say), especially after you’ve experience all the best Asia has to offer. From Shanghai’s infamous red rope , to Mongkok’s K pressure , from Jools, La café & Angels in Manila, passing trough Bangkok and most Asian capitals, from the high end Appetite Entertainment girls to the most basic Chinese BBS’s , you name it: I’ve been there and enjoyed it !! OMFG, how I miss it…
This small guide it’s a way of thanking all of those who have contributed for all those naughty experiences!
So, pass the introductions, let’s start.
First important advice: if you’re planning a mongering trip to Porto, just for the sake of it, forget it and turn around!! There are far better options…
But if you’re stuck in Porto, either working or just for a short meeting and if you are in urgent need of a pop, well this post might become handy !!
Furthermore I will try to give general information, beyond the basic and most important one – girls!!
Landing in Porto new airport is a smooth experience… Following the Norman Foster HKIA looks, a new glass building makes your experience quite pleasant… If you don’t have someone expecting you, the best way downtown is to get a taxi, (20€ maximum) … another option is the new metro.
HOTELS
There are several new hotels in Porto, I just suggest 3 in different price ranges (the idea is not turn this into a condé nast gold list) :
Sheraton Porto Spa – 110/140 €. Not the standard Sheraton, designed by a local architect – João Paciencia – it actually looks more a design hotel, rather than a Sheraton… Great spa, great rooms with wc glass walls, nice lobby. Avoid the restaurant for dinner – overpriced, food just so so, aseptic service.

AC Hotel – from the Spanish AC chain, contemporary design, and good pricing – +/- 80 €. Good if you have a car.

Quality inn – if you’re on the budget side, this hotel is quite ok and well located… You should pay 60€ with ABF.

Both have great ratio price/quality. I strongly advise the Sheraton, it’s quite price wise for European standards.
RESTAURANTS
In this point Porto, has several excellent options…
Trendy / up beat – if you want to see the local “beauties” (but strictly non mongering!)
Cafeína – it looks like a south California bistro, over 10 years solid success makes it a favourite for locals and expats alike. Good international food, nice service, nice looks acceptable pricing. Book well ahead for weekends.

D’oliva – Warehouse transformed in a Italian restaurant. Large, nice white deco, food is ok, not fantastic, service a bit snobby and slow on weekends… Book ahead.

Shis – brand new, formerly Praia do Ourigo. Overlooking the sea, perfect for a light lunch, also perfect to enjoy the sunset…

For Local specialities –
A Marisqueira de Matosinhos – the best seafood … great service, top quality, here you won’t get wrong… Don’t miss it…

Small fish restaurants “catch of the day”. Just get a cab to:
Rua Herois de França – Matosinhos (in front of the fishing port)
Just pick the one you like / most crowded. Notice these are simple restaurants in the appearance but most have excellent fresh fish.
Note: for all the restaurants mentioned reservation is required especially on weekends.
Cultural life – maybe a concert at Casa da Música from the pritzker award winner Rem Koolhaas http://www.casadamusica.com/ or a visit to the local contemporary museum Casa de Serralves http://www.serralves.pt/
Sightseeing – visit for the Porto wine cellars and Ribeira (riverside), take a boat tour under the bridges and enjoy lunch in one of the river side restaurants or have a snack at Majestic café in Rua St. Catarina.
GIRLS
Well, I think its time to go down to business…. Or let’s say GIRLS
The mongering activity in Portugal, has a great percentage of Brazilian girls… probably up to 70%.... This makes it a bit difficult for a foreigner since most of these girls won’t speak English at all… Furthermore most (not all) Brazilian chicks in Porto (not in Lisbon) are, let’s say “second division”, far from premier league…
Another huge difficulty is the selection process. This is the complete opposite of Asia… While in Asia you go to a specific bar (after RTFF), look for a girl you like, entangle a conversation, negotiate for LT or ST and off you go !!
In Porto this system doesn’t work– there aren’t these types of bars, the ones existing are a kind of cheap KTV’s where you most likely will be ripped off, and pay handsomely for a girl & drinks.
The most reliable system here is read the local menu’s (escorts websites), pick a girl, phone her and make an appointment. Most girls have apartments and / or would accept outcall. There is an extensive list of “menus” here:

The problem is that most of these websites are not reliable… You see a girl you like, you book with her and when you arrive at the apartment / she arrives at the hotel – GLUPP !! The guys who had her photos photoshoped should win a special effects Oscar – he was able to give her Herzigova legs, Claudia Schiffer smile and Gisele Bundchen hair… The only original “part” remaining is her little toe nail !!! And this is the best scenario; in some cases the photos are simply 100% fake, not even the nail is real!!
If the photos are fake and if your going to meet her in the apartment, just turnaround and leave. If an outcall, well …. It’s better to ask in advance if there’s a rejection fee… Although if the photos are fake, you shouldn’t pay the fee at all…
About the language difficulty:
I had a great pop recently with a Brazilian chick named Valentina. She could not understand half I said to her, and we both speak Portuguese !! So English it will be funny to try…, if you feel confident just try to speak with these Brazilian chicks…
Even most of the Portuguese girls will have difficulties maintaining a fluent English conversation, but I believe they will manage it… but other hand I feel when you come to Portugal you should taste the local “gastronomy”, if you know what I mean !!
So after all this cheap talk I will list a few Portuguese & Brazilian girls, who have normally good rating in the local forums. Please notice this is not a top, neither reflects my personal preferences. In fact I have just experienced 2/3 of these girls. For the values, do’s and don’ts, speak with the girls (or at least try) and make up your mind. For 1h outcall, values should be around 150€. In the apartment 100 € for 1h (with variations, depending on the girl)

Locally I don’t visit often massage parlours / brothels, but a possibility is this one: Casa FRIEDLAND – Av. Fernão de Magalhaes,1540 (up a small stairs)
It works 24/7 and has a basic choice of 5 to 7 average to nice (6 and 7’s) girls for 50 € / 30 minutes.
And for last:
If you have a car, you should really consider a trip to Peinador (http://www.hotelpeinador.com/ )– just 130 Kms north of Porto / 1h drive .
